MY STORY
Caroline Cant MICB PM. Dip
Bookkeeper, Mum, Partner, lover of nutella and netball, puzzles and films with a twist!
I was born and raised in Reading and have a background in finance, business administration and customer service. You could say numbers were installed in me from birth because my dad was a math's teacher before he retired and my oldest siblings are both management accountants.
I started bookkeeping 10 years ago when I decided to join the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. I began studying around my full time employment and volunteer position as Treasurer for my local preschool. Since then I have enjoyed working with a variety of clients and continue my learning with regular professional development, including attending accounting events, online webinars, workshops and short courses. In the world of finance you can never know enough, especially with the ever changing legislation!
My qualifications to date are as follows:
-
NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration
I became a Mum quite early on and found juggling a full time job around my then 3 year old was quite tough, so becoming my own boss with work that was flexible enough to complete around my children was the perfect choice, but I knew I needed to be qualified and regulated by a professional body in order to deliver the best service to my clients!
I now have 2 beautiful and energetic girls aged 12 and 6 that are both in full time eductaion (YAY) so I have a bit more time for myself and my clients, but still enjoy getting creative with arts and crafts when they want to. My job involves a lot of sitting down so I take time for regular walks in the beautiful village where I live and get my exercise from weekly netball games and yoga classes.
